Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care in an urgent care setting, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of various medical conditions. You will work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes while delivering compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including minor injuries and illnesses.
- Perform procedures such as IV insertion and pain management as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate medical records using eClinicalWorks software for efficient patient documentation.
- Participate in the training of nursing students or new staff within a teaching hospital environment.
- Provide behavioral health support when necessary, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology to inform clinical decisions and enhance patient outcomes.
- Work effectively in a Level I Trauma Center setting when required.
Schedule: 8a-8p
No call
Level III trauma
Multiple locations
Patient Volume: 20-40 per day depending on location
Procedures: Sutures, splints, abscess drainage
Ability to read x-rays a plus, but not required
Full support staff available
EMR: Cerner
Must be board-certified

Skills
- Proficient in eClinicalWorks for electronic health record management.
- Strong focus on patient care with the ability to handle diverse medical cases, including experience with children.
- Knowledgeable in pain management techniques and laboratory procedures relevant to urgent care settings.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality of care.
- Familiarity with behavioral health issues to provide comprehensive support to patients.
