TWCA is currently looking for a long-term substitute for Middle School Science/Chemistry.
Certification and experience are required.
Position Purpose
The Substitute Teacher will assume responsibility of classroom management, teaching lesson plans, and additional duties of the regular classroom teacher for an assigned time period.
Essential Functions
- Maintain professionalism in regard to students and the administration.
- Maintain classroom management while the teacher is absent.
4 Take attendance as directed by divisional Principal’s office
4 Help with classroom organization and clean up
4 Uphold standards of behavior in the classroom and on campus
- Follow lesson plans provided by the teacher.
- Assume teacher’s duties as instructed such as chapel with students, lunch duty, car line duty, and/or any other duties.
· Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School diploma or equivalent required.
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
· Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.
- Ability to independently supervise 20 or more students.
- Ability to handle emergency situations, fire drills, and communications as necessary or appropriate for the safety of the students and school.

· Commit to personal spiritual development.
· Serve as a positive Christian role model to students and pursue Christ-like behavior.
· Be a responsible steward of TWCA’s resources and personally support TWCA’s fundraising efforts at a level as able.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The ideal candidate can:
- Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
- Work in standard office conditions and climate.
- Work in varied extreme outside weather conditions during special activities and fundraising events, as needed.
- Perform in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- Sit and stand for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
- Hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone.
