Loss Prevention / Security Officer
Unity Pharmacy is a community-focused retail pharmacy dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming shopping environment. We are seeking a reliable and professional Loss Prevention / Security Officer to help protect our merchandise, employees, and customers while maintaining a friendly presence in-store.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor sales floor, entrances, and exits to deter theft and suspicious behavior.
- Conduct regular security patrols inside and outside the store.
- Identify, observe, and appropriately respond to shoplifting, fraud, or policy violations in line with store procedures.
- Support store staff in maintaining a safe environment for customers and employees.
- Document and report all security incidents, suspicious activity, and safety hazards.
- Work with local law enforcement when required.
- Assist in emergency situations, such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or evacuations.
- Promote a professional, approachable presence to deter theft without disrupting customer experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or loss prevention preferred (but not required for the right candidate).
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to stand/walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass background check; valid security license (if required by PA law for armed officers).
