JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the office manager or practitioner performs basic patient care activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain provider(s) operating room schedule of procedures and diagnostic studies
- Send orders/information and any communications to the respective department in advance for scheduled procedures/diagnostic studies.
- Perform prior authorization of procedures and diagnostic studies, assist provider and office with coding.
- Assist back clinic office in obtaining vitals and rooming of patients when needed.
- Ensure cleanliness of office and examination rooms.
- Clean and store equipment.
- Maintain supply inventory and re-stock as required.
- Perform basic clerical duties as needed.

- Knowledge of clinic front/back-office duties and coding

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education – High school diploma or equivalent; plus, specialized, short-term training in basic patient care.
Work Experience – clinic setting preferred.
Training – Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training recommended.
License/Certification – Certification in Nurse Assisting or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred.
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
