ECS is seeking a Mainframe Programmer to work in our Memphis, TN/hybrid (remote considered) office.
Designs, modifies, develop, writes, test, troubleshoot and implement software programming applications and enhancements to data systems with high transaction volumes and large data structures. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a project lead or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Applies sound analysis, business practices, and scientific expertise to solve a wide variety of customer problems. Applies expert knowledge to determine accuracy and reasonableness of data. Researches and analyzes customer requirements. Documents and summarizes the results and develops, recommends, and implements creative and innovative solutions to the customer's problems. Expert in one of the following areas: business; business management; systems management; operations research; computer science; engineering; math; or related areas. Is capable of mentoring or training other team members and sharing their expertise within and across contracts, organizational boundaries and with Customers. Participating in business requirement gathering sessions, gathering user data requirements, understanding the user requirements, and assisting in the reconciliation of technical and business requirements. Ensure that all solutions follow security and compliance controls. Assist in planning, architecting, designing, developing, testing and deploying applications.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Analyzes functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
- Translates detailed design into computer software.
- Performs software development in C/C++ for multiple platforms (Linux/Windows)
- Performs Unit, System Integration and Customer Acceptance Testing.
- Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
- Works effectively with multiple team members in diverse roles to develop and enhance applications and systems.
- Supports new and existing applications.
- US Citizen or Green Card holder per contract.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience in the following:
- 10+ years’ experience with C, C++, experience with UNIX Scripting (Bash is preferred).
- Experience with mainframe programming
- Experience with Address Matching/CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System) rules.
- Experience with code repository tool (GitHub is preferred).
- Experience with these platforms: Microsoft Windows, Linux.
- Experience with the following development tool: Windows Visual Studio.
- Minimum/General Experience: Seven (7)+ years of information systems development experience including systems analysis and design techniques for the implementation of large scale computer systems.
- Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Management or equivalent.
