Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general property maintenance and hands-on repair work. This role requires a resourceful problem-solver with a sharp eye for detail, a proactive mindset, and a professional and hospitable demeanor. Consistently ensuring that our homes are well-maintained and guest-ready is essential to delivering the high-quality experience we promise.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on vacation rental properties, including HVAC troubleshooting and upkeep, plumbing repairs, electrical fixes, drywall patching, painting, and appliance repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from the operations team and resolve issues in a timely, guest-friendly manner.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure properties are in excellent working condition prior to guest arrivals.
- Work closely with housekeeping and property management teams to coordinate schedules and resolve maintenance issues without disrupting guest stays.
- Maintain an inventory of tools and basic repair supplies.
- Identify and report larger repair needs or safety hazards that require third-party vendors or capital improvements.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with local safety and code regulations.
- Create reports, log repair details, source materials and make product orders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in property maintenance or a similar role.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, drywall repairs and general construction.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for guest interactions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Availability for occasional after-hours or weekend emergencies.
- Must have reliable transportation and live within a 20 mile radius of downtown Savannah, closer is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in hospitality or vacation rentals.
- Experience with repairing and maintaining historic homes.
- Familiarity with mobile maintenance apps or digital work order systems.
