Location: Hatchery - Industrial Park in Eufaula, Al
SUMMARY:
Maintenance Generalist are responsible for but not limited to:
- Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
- Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction
- Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems
- Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
- Lubricate equipment with various grease and oils
- Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule
- Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
- Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs
- Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs
- Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision
- Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
- Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed
- Perform janitorial services if needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, and humid.
- Must be willing to complete all required training for the job and perform any other duties assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of Maintenance experience or graduate of Industrial Maintenance Training program or combination of experience and education to meet the 2 year requirement.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical
- This position will require standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders.
- Position may involve heavy lifting 50-70 lbs. or more.
- Must be willing to work in damp, cold or hot environments, reach above shoulder level.
- Must be able to perform all duties of the position
- Be willing to stand 8- 10 hours a day.
- Must wear PPE, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net and beard guard.
- Must have or be able to obtain Tyson operator’s license for pallet jack or forklift, if necessary
- Ability to understand technical mechanical concepts
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organization skills

- The jobsite is a biosecure environment and could require showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company.

- Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
- Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
- Will be trained to recognize and comply with all Safety procedures.
