Overview
Primary Purpose
Responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and basic technical repairs in various building and utility/support systems. Assists with maintaining life safety systems and required documentation.
Major Responsibilities
- Conducts preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems and documents tasks through the computerized maintenance system.
- Assists in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures and performs repairs as directed.
- Operates and monitors and maintains basic Utility System Infrastructure.
- Assist in maintaining fire alarm and fire protection systems.
- Supports the installation of building hardware, electrical devices, and wall finishes under supervision.
- Maintains preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files for compliance.
- Reads blueprints, Life Safety drawings and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of technical training.
Certification / Registration / License : Valid Driver’s License.
Work Experience: 2-4 Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures.
- Intermediate level computer skills in using systems such as CMMS, Microsoft Office, Building Automation Systems.
- Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with minimal oversight with intermediate level technical skills in facility maintenance.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Works required shifts and participates in on-call duty to provide 24/7 coverage.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
- Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
- Position requires travel. May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
