PURPOSE: The Maintenance/Transportation Technician will perform general maintenance to ensure a clean and safe environment for Bethany Life’s facilities and grounds. This includes preventative and remedial maintenance, upkeep of the building and grounds and providing transportation for residents and team members.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Installs equipment and appliances.
- Transport residents and staff utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
- Inspect and maintain vehicles to ensure safe vehicle operations and recognize when maintenance is required on vehicles.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.

What's Required as a Maintenance/Transportation Technician:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school or certificates preferred.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair and ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Keen attention to detail and safety oriented and ability to follow instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
- Valid Iowa driver’s license, chauffeurs license and CDL preferred; or willingness to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.
- Great time management, organization, and prioritization abilities.
- CPR Certified or obtained within six (6) months of hire date.
Schedule: 8am - 4:30pm, Every other weekend, Every other holiday
