Job Summary:
The Make Ready Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all guest rooms, residential units, and common areas at The National are thoroughly prepared and maintained to the highest standards prior to occupancy. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and preparation tasks, working closely with the engineering and housekeeping teams to ensure seamless transitions and a luxury-ready environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and prepare units, rooms, and public spaces to ensure they meet Coury Hospitality and brand standards prior to guest or resident occupancy
- Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks including paint touch-ups, drywall repairs, minor plumbing, lighting, hardware installations, and appliance checks
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Engineering to report and resolve outstanding repair needs
- Replace light bulbs, air filters, door hardware, and other consumable components
- Complete detailed punch lists to verify all aspects of the unit are guest-ready or resident-ready
- Troubleshoot minor HVAC issues, sinks, drains, and electrical outlets
- Ensure cleanliness and aesthetic readiness of units, including checking for scuffs, smudges, and cosmetic defects
- Assist in furniture placement or minor assembly as needed
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Respond promptly to service requests or urgent needs
- Uphold all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of experience in maintenance, make-ready, facilities, or a related role
- Basic knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and follow through with assigned tasks
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Previous hospitality or luxury property experience preferred
- Experience working in historic buildings or multi-use developments a plus
