ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary
The Manager of Ancillary Laboratory Services will administer policies, manages personnel and daily activities in the delivery of quality patient care within the area of responsibility.
As the Manager of Ancillary Laboratory Services, you will:
- Maintain adequate inventories of supplies and reagents to perform testing and assure adequate equipment is available, operational and performance monitored.
- Monitor current accreditation standards to ensure department compliance with all regulatory agencies (CAP, JCAHO, NCCLS, CLIA, ASHI, OSHA, Federal Regulations, and AABB).
- Develop, plan, and audit departmental goals and budget. Monitor and serve as a resource for activities related to physical plant, data processing, and educational training of students, and Departmental/Hospital committees.
Minimum Requirements
- BS Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biologic Science. A four-year degree is required for Managers of non-testing areas.
- Five (5) years of current/related clinical laboratory experience in department specialty or area of concentration is required.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in the laboratory or clinical setting is required.
- MLS/MT (ASCP, AMT, HEW, or equivalent) certification is required.
