Summary/Objective
All positions in the Department of Athletics are responsible to help student-athletes fulfill the stated missions of Southwest Baptist University and the Department of Athletics.
Essential Job Duties
- Serves as the primary contact for between Athletic Staff and Coaches in regards to facilities and their needs. Will serve this role for Indoor and Outdoor Sports.
- Assists Athletic Department with student recruitment and retention
- Coordinate mowing of the assigned fields
- Work with facilities crew on how to enhance the fields
- Coordinate with facilities the schedule of fertilizing/seeding of the fields
- Work to upkeep the equipment that is required for maintenance
- Edging and other field duties to maintain and enhance all the assigned facilities
- Coordinate with applicable staff and students to help with the upkeep
- Work with and communicate with coaches/about directors the field usage on the days where the weather could be a factor for field health
- Other duties as assigned by Athletic Department, approved by the Athletic Director
- Assist the Athletic department in other facility projects/assignments as assigned by the Athletic Director
- Works closely with SBU’s Physical Plant to maintain facilities and equipment.
- Suggests items for purchase as needed.
- Will serve on the Athletic Administration Team.
- Will assist in the fundraising initiatives and other duties assigned as a member of the Athletic Administration Team.
- Trains GAs and student workers in the areas of game management and facilities.
- Provides ways to use assets more efficiently.
- Adhere to and support established budget and allocations.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Work Environment
- Must be able to work in a typical office and athletics environment.
- Must be available for frequent travel.
- Night and weekend work required.
- Must be able to work during crowd noise and loud game environments
- Must be able to work outdoors
- Must be able to travel long distances by plane, train, or automobile.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
Physical Abilities
- Must be able to operate and / or maneuver equipment,
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as a personal computer, photocopies, printer, etc.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid Missouri Driver’s License.
- Must be able to climb stairs, work in varying temperatures and sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to safely operate lawn care equipment including, but not limited to, mowers, weed-eater, blowers, etc.
