The Columbus River Dragons, members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) since 2019, are a professional hockey team located in Columbus, Georgia. We pride ourselves on providing an elite, high-energy hockey experience for our fans while maintaining a strong culture of professionalism, accountability, and team-first values behind the scenes.

Position Summary
The Columbus River Dragons are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and energetic professional to lead our game day fan entertainment and community outreach efforts. As the Manager of Events Operations and Community Outreach, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of in-game entertainment and sponsor activations at home games, while also managing community appearances and partnerships.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves sports, and is passionate about creating memorable experiences for fans and fostering strong community relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
Game Day & Event Operations
  • Oversee all aspects of set-up, execution, and breakdown of gameday giveaways and theme night activations.
  • Oversee the setup of in-arena signage and gameday assets.
  • Oversee and execute all entertainment elements during home games — including music, promotions, intermission activities, and fan engagement.
  • Coordinate and fulfill sponsor/partner activations to ensure top-tier client satisfaction.
  • Work with internal staff and venue personnel to manage event setup, execution, and breakdown.
Community Events & Outreach
  • Serve as an ambassador of the River Dragons in the Columbus community.
  • Identify and coordinate team participation in local events, charity functions, school visits, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Oversee special event responsibilities including distribution of promotional items, community activations, and more.
  • Engage and interact with fans at home games and community events to enhance fan experience and champion the River Dragon brand.
  • Manage mascot and player appearances in the community.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, nonprofits, and schools to grow the team’s community presence.
Logistics & Planning
  • Develop run-of-show timelines, staffing plans, and event checklists.
  • Track fulfillment of sponsorship activations and report key results.
  • Maintain inventory of promotional items, giveaways, and event supplies.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in sports management, business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a related role, preferably in professional or minor league sports.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and all home games as required.
Compensation Range 30,000+ USD annually based on qualifications, includes opportunity to earn incentives and bonuses.
