Responsible for overseeing all planning and allocation functions of the merchandise department including: merchandising and inventory, administration, visual merchandising, and warehousing. Scope includes managing guest service, budgets, policies/SOPs, inventory control, labor & expense management, guest and team member safety, inter-departmental relationships and other functions as directed.
- Support San Antonio (SeaWorld and Aquatica) parks' merchandise master planning strategies and implementation. Work directly with the Merchandise Sr Leader to ensure strategies align with the Park and Property Support growth strategies.
- Implement department revenue accountability and programs to exceed budget targets.
- Provide direction to achieve the highest quality levels for all back of house operations, to include guest service, mail order, warehousing and product allocation including store presentations and displays.
- Ensure compliance of all policies and procedures relative to operation, ensuring applicability and accuracy. Engage with peers and others in effort to advance all department and organizational objectives broadly.
- Deliver revenue and EBITDA growth.
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment policy and applicable laws, including audit and annual inventory completion.
- Support departmental communication plans and ensure that direct reports are informed and engaged in departmental goals.
- Provide oversight to the Merchandise Warehouse locations onsite and offsite.
- Lead the development and execution of attractive, compelling displays.
- Approve and ensure adherence to visual standards.
- Analyze and implement plan-o-grams and store maps to maximize profitability.
- Participate in product sets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Uses Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) to create, maintain, complete and implement documents and forms such as Material Status Report (Mat-Stat), Material/Product/Menu Recipe Change (PMR), etc.
- Analyzes and processes inventory documents such as invoices, proof of delivery (POD), pick tickets, etc.
- Monitors inventory: analyze movements; identify and reconcile inventory discrepancies efficiently & accurately; conduct physical counts as needed; price change events; assist with cycle counts; coordinate depletion, replacement, and instatement of materials.
- Administers basic purchasing contract terms (pricing, freight, tax, etc.).
- Monitors & processes inventory documents such as department to department transfers, location to location transfers, Want Lists, Broken Box Lists, price change events, cycle counts, mid/max adjustments, etc.
- Occasionally assist other locations and areas in the park as needed.
