Mandarin Substitute Teacher

GLOBE is a K-8 charter school on two campuses that opened in 2013 and fosters Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Education, serving students from all over DeKalb County, GA. With a focus on dual-language immersion, an experiential-learning model and a constructivist approach, GLOBE inspires students to be high-performing, lifelong learners equipped to make a positive impact in the world.
We are currently seeking applicants for Mandarin Substitute teachers. GLOBE language teachers and teacher assistants uphold 100% target language use with students at all times. For further information about The GLOBE Academy, please see our website at www.theglobeacademy.org
The GLOBE Academy keeps an active list of substitutes to fill in for lead and assistant teachers. Substitute Teachers are employed on a day-to-day or long-term basis by GLOBE. There is no contractual agreement for employment between The GLOBE Academy and the Substitute Teacher beyond the day-to-day assignment or long-term assignment for which he/she is called and for which he/she agrees to work.
As a substitute teacher you will assume the duties and responsibilities of a classroom teacher or teacher Assistant. You will be able to present the predetermined instructional plan to our students in the absence of the teacher of record, maintain good classroom management, work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, and the community to support the goals of GLOBE. Long Term Substitutes may be required to create plans as required by school policy. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience: Experience working with Elementary and or Middle School aged students.
Demonstrates effectiveness in working with a diverse group of students, teachers,
and families.
Language - Mandarin
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma, must be at least 21 years of age
Compensation: Hourly Rate:
Certified Teachers - $22.50
Non-Certified Teachers - $18.75
Teacher Assistant - $16.25
