Director of Marketing and Public Relations

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing and Public Relations to oversee all marketing, branding, and PR efforts for Sperry’s Restaurant, Sperry's Mercantile, Sperry's Meats. This role focuses on developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans, strengthening public relations, and increasing sales and profitability while upholding the company's values, philosophies, and management standards.

Responsibilities
Advertising & Media Relations
Develop annual, monthly, and ad-hoc media plans for traditional and digital advertising campaigns. Design and approve advertising materials to ensure alignment with brand standards. Maintain and update media contact lists, fostering strong media relationships. Handle press inquiries, disseminate public relations materials, and manage crisis communications. Implement guerrilla marketing strategies for each store, including partnerships with local businesses and hotels.
Social Media & Digital Platforms
Manage content creation, scheduling, engagement, and analytics for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Nextdoor, Google Business, Yelp, and TripAdvisor. Develop campaigns for special events, promotions, and holidays.
Oversee high-quality photo and video content creation aligned with brand goals. Strategize and execute digital advertising to promote visibility and engagement.
Websites & Digital Tools
Oversee website hosting and management via BentoBox, ensuring all content is updated. Manage marketing dashboards and integrations with tools like SevenRooms.
Address technical support queries.
Graphic Design & Content Creation
Maintain and manage the Canva Brand Kit and design templates for promotional materials. Collaborate with third-party vendors for menu updates, signage, and printed materials. Oversee a library of stock photographs for use in print and digital media campaigns.
Guest Relations & Public Relations Reporting
Monitor and respond to guest reviews across platforms, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolutions for complaints.
Compile weekly public relations reports for leadership, including metrics and insights. Internal Communications
Create and update company policies, procedures, and communication materials as needed. Maintain a library of internal communication and email templates.
Foster effective communication of promotions and initiatives to all staff.
Donations, Sponsorships & Charitable Giving
Organize and oversee charitable contributions, sponsorships, and community give-back programs. Manage partnerships such as the NFL Titans Bar Program, NSC Pub Program, and Predators Approved Bar Program.
Foster relationships with charitable organizations and community partners to enhance brand reputation.
Promotions & Campaigns
Develop and execute an annual promotions calendar, covering all relevant events. Plan and implement campaigns for new menu items, holiday specials, and in-house contests. Regularly visit stores to assess promotional needs and marketing opportunities.
Branding & Reputation Management
Monitor brand perception and implement strategies to address issues and maintain a positive public image.
Ensure consistent branding across all channels and materials.
Email Marketing
Develop, design, and execute email campaigns via Omnisend, aligned with promotional and annual marketing calendars.
Gift Card Operations
Oversee in-house, online, and trade gift card management, including Costco partnerships. Track and maintain logs for gift card usage policies and ensure seamless activation via Aloha Enterprise.
Invoicing & Administrative
Manage invoices for advertising, printing, and related expenses using Restaurant365. Collaborate with beer distributors to utilize annual marketing budgets effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
__ years of marketing or PR experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry. Strong proficiency in social media management, content creation, and graphic design. Demonstrated success managing advertising budgets, vendor relationships, and digital platforms. Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in tools like Canva, Adobe, Google Workspace.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
