The Material Handler plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the production process. Their primary responsibility is to organize, transport, and deliver raw materials, tools, and finished products to various workstations and storage areas. Material Handlers use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move heavy metal sheets and components safely, adhering to strict safety guidelines.
Additionally, they maintain accurate inventory records to prevent material shortages and wastage. Their role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and ensure a smooth workflow in the metal fabrication facility.
The hours for this position will be 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
· Safely and efficiently operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, finished products, and tools within the facility.
· Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock.
· Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
· Collaborate with production teams to deliver materials and components to designated workstations in a timely manner, maintaining the production schedule.
· Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and alert supervisors to potential shortages or overages.
· Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
· Utilizes computer for labeling, pack lists, and inventory control.
· Follow good housekeeping practices. Keep work areas clean and free from safety hazards.
· Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure the reliability and safety of material handling equipment.
· Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
· Assist in other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of previous experience as a Material Handler.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
-Familiarity with inventory management systems and computer systems.
- Able to accurately record, calculate and maintain records. Basic math skills are required.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
