Job Summary
The role of an Assembler I, II, or III involves properly assembling various finished goods and/or sub-assemblies, while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. An Assembler II possesses comprehensive knowledge of at least one product family and can train others in the assembly process. Assembler III has extensive knowledge of multiple product families, the ability to train others, and can also lead production teams.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and manuals to understand the assembly process.
- Assemble machines, equipment, and subassemblies following written and verbal specifications.
- Utilize a variety of pneumatic, electric, battery, and manual hand tools as required.
- Safely operate overhead hoists and various lifting equipment.
- Inspecting, testing, and adjusting completed units to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
- Operate a forklift if assigned by the manager.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Communicating with supervisors, engineers, and co-workers to resolve assembly issues.
- Documenting actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the planner or manager
Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training in manufacturing technology or a related field.
- Experience in mechanical assembly or a similar role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team and follow safety protocols
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand on concrete for the duration of a work shift.
- Kneeling and crouching as required.
- Mobility within the work facility.
