Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring a high level of patient care in an outpatient or urgent care setting. This position requires a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and patient service, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patients.
- Document patient histories and vital signs accurately in electronic health records.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with coding for billing purposes.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Support the medical team in various administrative tasks as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or urgent care setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Familiarity with coding practices related to medical-surgical procedures is a plus.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of geriatrics is advantageous for providing specialized care to older adults.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other healthcare technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $912.15 - $1,098.51 per week
