Now offering a $1,500 sign on bonus for Medical Assistant & Medical Office Specialist New Hires!
Effective April 1, 2025 through August 29, 2025. Applicable only for MA & MOS positions in the Centers of Excellence and Maryland Family Care practices, of which this role applies to.

We are seeking a skilled Medical Office Specialist to join our Breast Center department. This position involves both front and back office duties, including patient registration, patient check in/out, appointment scheduling, copay/balance collection, patient triage, assisting medical professionals in an office setting, running patients during clinic hours, and performing insurance verification and prior authorizations. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
Front Office Duties:
  • Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures
  • Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or fees as needed.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and other callers.
  • Complete patient check-in and check-out processes.
Back Office Duties:
  • Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
  • Administer injections and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers. (on-site training provided)
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing.
  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Education and Work Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • A minimum of one-year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Certification Requirements:
    • CPR-preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
      • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
      • Microsoft Outlook
      • Epic
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
    • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
    • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
    • May be required to travel.
Min: USD $18.66/Hr. Max: USD $30.79/Hr. Benefits:
