As a Medical Assistant or LPN with Columbia County Health District, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Starting Salary:
Medical Assistant $35,000
LPN $42,000

Job Responsibilities

All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Medical Assistant:
Under direct supervision, performs administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the provider on duty. Handles front office duties which include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing and coding for insurance purposes. Assists in the clinic by taking and
recording vital signs and charting medical history, providing TB or DOT services, ordering supplies, preparing patients for examination and collect blood or other laboratory specimens. Cleaning and sterilizing instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

LPN:
Under direct supervision and preform clinical duties under the direction of the provider on duty. Provide immunization services, run reports, managing inventory, participating in audits, ordering supplies, collect blood or other laboratory specimens, cleaning/ sterilizing instruments, dispose of contaminated supplies, vital signs, charting medical history, providing TB and DOT services, and servicing as back up to medical assistants.

Minimum Qualifications

Medical Assistant:
Medical Assistant's program from an accredited technical or vocational school. Certification from Medical Assistant's program and CPR certification
Phlebotomy certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.

LPN:
Vocational/ Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an
accredited college. Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
and CPR certification

Under the pre-employment fitness-for-duty this position is considered a

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
