Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and healthcare regulations. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate smooth billing operations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical procedures using CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Process and submit claims to insurance companies and government payers.
- Review and resolve billing discrepancies and denials to ensure timely payment.
- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient record management.
- Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, including outstanding balances and payment options.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) methodologies.
- Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD coding, medical terminology, and medical records management.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
