Position Summary
VerityMD Inc., a high-volume neurology practice, is seeking a skilled and efficient Medical Biller, Coder, and Credentialing Specialist with hands-on EPIC billing experience. This part-time role is critical for maintaining clean claims, minimizing denials, and ensuring providers remain credentialed with insurance panels and hospitals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to maximize EPIC’s billing and workflow tools to achieve high efficiency in limited hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Billing & Coding in EPIC
- Review provider charge capture and coding for accuracy.
- Submit and track claims through EPIC’s billing work queues.
- Monitor clearinghouse rejections and correct promptly.
- Ensure compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Payment Posting & Denial Management
- Reconcile electronic remittance advice (ERA) postings.
- Manually post payments for non-ERA payers.
- Work denial and appeals queues to minimize lost revenue.
- Track denial trends and recommend workflow improvements.
- Credentialing
- Complete and maintain provider credentialing with insurance panels and hospitals.
- Monitor credentialing revalidations, expirations, and updates.
- Coordinate with practice leadership to ensure timely submission of documents.
- Compliance & Quality
- Ensure billing practices follow federal, state, and payer-specific regulations.
- Maintain accurate provider, payer, and patient records.
- Stay updated on EPIC upgrades relevant to revenue cycle and coding.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing and coding experience in EPIC.
- Certification in medical billing/coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred.
- Prior credentialing experience with commercial insurers, Medicare, and hospitals.
- Strong understanding of denial management and clean claim practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a part-time role.
Work Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
- Hybrid work (remote tasks + occasional on-site support).
