Major and Essential Functions of this position are as follows:
Follow-up on patient claim denials to obtain payment from insurance payers in a timely manner.
Calling insurance payers and patients to obtain information for resolution of denied claims.
Filing appeals with commercial and government insurance payers to obtain payment of claims.
Answering inbound phone calls from patients to resolve issues and to take paymets on account.
Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, clinic staff, patients and insurance payers.
Occasional Duties
Occational other duties may be assigned by management to meet the needs of the Business Office.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of medical or general office experience OR Completion of related education or training and one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional experience in a clinic or physician's office preferred.
Commercial and Government EOB review experience preferred.
Commercial and Government appeal experience to include all denial codes preferred.
Commercial and Government website use experience preferred.
Extensive patient and insurance payers phone call experience preferred.
Experience in medical practice management system experience preferred.
