Physician’s Clinical Assistant/Medical Historian/Scribe:Well established and busy private orthopedic, spine, and pain management practice has a full-time opening (Monday to Friday) for a Physician’s Clinical Assistant/Medical Historian/Scribe.
Job Purpose:
Assist physician in order to increase efficiency, report production, and flow of patients through the office.
Job Duties may include, but are not limited to:
· Rooming patients, distributing and collecting paperwork
· Fielding authorization and patient calls
· Obtaining outside medical records, including imaging
· Interview patients and obtain medical history, job description, history of injury and treatment, present complaints, and social history.
· Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to enter patient data.
· Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician.
· Electronically fax completed office visit note to various parties including insurance companies and attorneys.
· Edit medical reports, create proof of services, and otherwise assisting with the processing of outgoing reports
· Assist with other front and back office tasks
Skills and qualifications:
Applicant must have exceptional written and verbal skills and be proficient in typing and have excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills. The applicant must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining great attention to detail. The applicant must also be reliable and punctual, professional, and have a willingness to learn.
