Medical Office Specialist / Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist Flexible Hours Part-time/Full-time; Multi-Role Position Location: New Berlin, WI
FastBack Physical Therapy and Neuro Path Wellness are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and compassionate Medical Office Specialist to join our team! This is a unique opportunity to support a variety of patients across our orthopedic, neurological, holistic healthcare, and mental health programs. You will serve as the front desk receptionist for FastBack PT, Neuro Path Wellness (our Parkinson’s wellness center, home for Rock Steady Boxing), and Neuro Path Counseling clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients for physical therapy, wellness, and counseling services
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient communication
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations (experience a plus but not required)
- Collect copays and ensure proper documentation of payments
- Maintain updated patient records and assist with billing coordination
- Support therapists and administrative team with general office tasks
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in medical office or front desk roles
- Friendly, organized, and able to multitask in a busy clinical setting
- Strong communicator, comfortable interacting with patients of all backgrounds
- Insurance verification and authorization experience is a plus but not required—
Familiarity of basic medical and insurance terminology is a must, however we will provide additional on-site training specific to our services. This means that you will need to understand concepts like scheduling medical appointments, insurance benefits (physical therapy authorization, copays and deductibles, out of pocket maximum), and be able to explain that to patients.
Schedule & Hours:
- Availability for Part-time or Full-time, minimun 20 hours per week
- Flexible daytime hours Monday–Friday
- Some evening availability preferred
- Clinic hours: Mon–Thurs: 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
