Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations within our medical office, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting the overall management of the office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical office and know electronic health record systems, particularly eClinicalWorks. This position is pivotal in maintaining effective communication between patients and healthcare providers while managing administrative tasks efficiently. We are small, busy practice. We currently do NOT offer health insurance, however we are currently bidding for insurance.
Duties
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
- Manage patient records, including filing and updating care plans.
- Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Handle incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, and providing information regarding services.
- Maintain a clean and organized front office environment.
- Assist with billing inquiries and coordinate with the clinic as needed.
- Will collect payments and run close-out reports each day.
- Utilize eClinicalWorks for patient data entry and management.
- Work with the office staff to cover other areas as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing files and records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of care plans, Medicare processes, and general medical terminology is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Be able to work in a fast paced environment and a busy office.
