Join our innovative team environment. Medical Service Representatives will be responsible for assisting administratively in the Operations Department in areas that help patients including but not limited to; virtual and in-person reception, new patients, medical records, patient lines, scheduling, etc. This is a cross-trained position that supports other positions based on demand in the Operations Department.
Medical Service Representative Duties & Responsibilities:
- Approx 50% of this role will be answering phone calls and setting up new patient appointments
- Follows up with patients after the original consent was emailed to them needed for their next appointment
- Verifying insurances
- Professionally assist doctors, staff, visitors, and patients
- Answer all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain confidentiality of all medical providers, staff, and patient’s information while being HIPAA compliant
- Schedule appointments for multiple providers
- Complete accurate documentation of patient visits
- Work with various departments and staff in a collaborative manner
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of insurance benefit plans, providers, medical terminology, Emerald Psychiatry service lines, and more.
- Ability to identify when to elevate and reroute concerns or questions to appropriate staff
- Ability to use technology
Medical Service Representative Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, and Outlook.
- Preferred 1 year experience in healthcare facility as a Medical Receptionist role or similar role
- Must have knowledge in medical insurances and benefit verifications along with the ability to communicate this knowledge.
- Medical Practice Management, Electronic Health Records, and Patient Engagement experience is preferred. Experience in Doxy and AdvancedMD a plus
Compensation: $20-$22 per hour based on experience
