Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their medication needs, ensuring they receive the correct dosages at the appropriate times. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide quality care to individuals, particularly seniors and those with developmental disabilities. Your ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations will be crucial in this position.
Duties
- Administer prescribed medications to patients according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions to medications.
- Maintain accurate medication records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the daily care of residents, including personal hygiene and mobility support.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide support for patients with dementia, hospice needs, and memory care requirements.
- Engage with patients in a compassionate manner, fostering a supportive environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to caregiving practices.
Skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Experience or training in dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and patient care protocols.
- Strong caregiving skills, particularly for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Understanding of basic physiology as it relates to medication administration.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work compassionately and patiently with individuals facing various health challenges.
