Job Summary
The Mental Health Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the mental health and well-being of patients in a clinical setting. This position involves working closely with individuals experiencing various mental health challenges, providing compassionate care, and assisting with therapeutic activities. Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, including art therapy, to encourage self-expression and coping strategies.
- Provide support during individual counseling sessions, focusing on gender issues counseling as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Educate patients about psychopharmacology and medication management as part of their treatment process.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health care.
Requirements
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a mental health setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Knowledge of gender issues counseling techniques is advantageous.
- Familiarity with art therapy practices is a plus.
- Understanding of psychopharmacology principles is beneficial.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if required.
- Must pass background checks as mandated by healthcare regulations.
