About Pivot Charter School:
Pivot Charter School is a small, tuition-free public charter school serving students in grades 6–12. We believe every student deserves to be known, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. With a focus on relationships, structure, and individualized support, our team works closely with families to help students thrive—both academically and personally.
We are not your typical school—and that’s by design.
At Pivot, we’ve intentionally created a learning environment that balances structure, high expectations, and meaningful relationships. We are not a credit recovery school. Our students are expected to meet grade-level standards through direct, hands-on instruction, active engagement, and consistent effort.
We focus on helping students master content the right way—not just check boxes or make up missed work. Through clear routines, targeted supports, and a strong emphasis on personal responsibility, we help students build the habits and confidence they need to succeed in school and beyond. Every staff member plays a role in upholding this structure, supporting student growth, and ensuring our school remains a place where learning is taken seriously.
As a Cognia-accredited school, we are committed to maintaining high standards of academic excellence and continuous improvement. With over a decade of service to the Riverview community, we’ve built a school culture grounded in strong relationships, consistent expectations, and a belief in every student’s ability to grow.
At Pivot, we:
- Focus on relationships first, knowing that students learn best when they feel safe, seen, and supported
- Provide a structured, hands-on learning environment with clear expectations and high accountability
- Maintain a calm, orderly campus that helps students build confidence, responsibility, and self-discipline
- Expect all staff to be flexible, dependable, and ready to jump in wherever needed
- Foster a collaborative, respectful school culture centered on consistency, care, and high standards
- Support instructional freedom while working as a team—we may implement shared expectations or parameters to promote schoolwide consistency and student success
Our students are capable, creative, and full of potential. We’re here to help them realize it—one relationship, one lesson, and one day at a time.
