Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Millwright to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment across various industrial settings. As a Millwright at Total-Western, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of essential equipment, contributing to the continued success of our projects. Your work will directly support our commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, helping us deliver optimal solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of Machinery and Equipment: Install and align complex machinery and mechanical systems, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, diagnosing issues and making necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Blueprint and Technical Specifications Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to understand system layouts and perform tasks accurately and efficiently.

  • System Alignment and Calibration: Ensure precise alignment of machinery and mechanical systems, using tools such as lasers and dial indicators to achieve optimal performance.

  • Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure successful project outcomes and timely completion.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship program or equivalent experience in the field.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair.

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, welding, and fabrication techniques. Experience with a variety of hand and power tools is essential.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly.

  • Safety Awareness: In-depth knowledge of safety procedures and practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure work environment.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks in various industrial environments.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with specific machinery or in industries such as manufacturing, petrochemical, or aerospace.

  • Certification in relevant areas such as welding or industrial mechanics.

  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Work Environment:
This position is field-based, requiring work in various industrial environments, including manufacturing plants, oil rigs, and other client locations. The role may involve travel to different job sites. Work hours may vary, and flexibility is required to meet project deadlines.

Reporting Structure:
The Millwright will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor or Project Manager and collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $25 - $29 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
