Summary
The Assistant Montessori Guide supports the Lead Guide in creating a peaceful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. The Assistant plays a key role in classroom management, preparing materials, and observing and supporting each child?s growth and learning following Montessori principles.
Contract would begin at the beginning of our summer program (June) to ensure a smooth transition into the 2025-2026 school year.

Duties
The duties of Assistant Guides include, but are not limited to:
- Support the Lead Guide in maintaining a prepared, orderly classroom
- Assist children respectfully and appropriately, fostering independence and confidence
- Observe children and communicate insights and concerns to the Lead Guide
- Help with classroom setup, material preparation, and maintaining cleanliness
- Supervise children during lunch, outdoor play, and rest times
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure a consistent, safe, and nurturing environment
- Attend staff meetings and school events as required
Requirements

- Full Time, Contract position
- Previous childcare experience
- Willing and able to work summers (opportunities for extended paid time off available)
- MUST be a keen collaborator and display the capability to work interdependently with fellow staff
- Agreeable to being placed in a different program when assistance is needed.
- Pass federal and state background checks
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric/First Aid CPR
- Montessori training and/or certification
- Experience working with neurodivergent children and/or special needs
