Job Summary
The Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant supports the Mortgage Loan Officers by understanding each member’s unique financial needs and helping guide them through UFCU’s extensive suite of mortgage products to find the right solution. This role assists multiple Loan Officers in their day-to-day job duties related to compliance and quality assurance. The Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant provides exceptional support and service to enable the Loan Officer to grow their business. Each Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant will work with a consistent Loan Officer team.
The Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant reports to the Senior Manager, Mortgage Loan Operations.

Essential Functions
Loan File Support and Compliance
- Application Support: Assists the Loan Officer in obtaining information for an application and/or originating a mortgage loan. Assists applicants in filling out application packets, collects documents, and signatures.
- Compliance Support: Follows up on TRID paperwork, Initial Disclosure Request, Re-Disclosure Request, Upload authorization for credit pulls, properly closes out files, fills out loan summary information from website application, and uploads all loan and financial documents.
- Process Support: Manages the mortgage loan process from application to funding. Properly utilizes loan origination and other tools to monitor and track the life cycle of a loan to communicate real- time information to the Loan Officer, Processor, Realtors, and member(s).
Communication and Service Support
- Communication Support: Provides timely and accurate information to all parties including Loan Officers, Loan Processors, Realtors and member(s) (responds within 24 hours) and weekly and monthly reports to management.
- Lead Support: Assists the Loan Officers in their first contact of both voice mail and email of potential members. Helps prioritize necessity for first contact as Hot/Warm/Cold leads.

- Completes required regulatory training as assigned.
- Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge
- Strong knowledge in all aspects of the Federal and State Regulations dealing with Mortgage and Home Equity lending, including HMDA, RESPA, Fair Housing, ECOA, TIL, and relevant regulations in other states (North Carolina, Florida, etc.)
- Fully competent in Microsoft Office, Encompass, and other related software programs

Experience
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year administrative experience
- Minimum two (2) years of inside/outside sales experience in the financial or lending industry
- Minimum one (1) year of mortgage industry experience, preferably as a Loan Officer Assistant
- Must be bondable
Preferred Requirements
- Prior financial institution experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
