Multimedia Specialist I
This position is located in the College of Public Health and Health Professions. The Multimedia Specialist I collaborates with college multimedia specialists, instructional designers, and faculty, as well as others, on the planning, production, post-production editing, and final publishing of multimedia content and audio-visual media projects related to instruction, and information delivery. This includes coordinating arrangements to facilitate captioning and accessibility for all videos produced.
Collaborate with college multimedia specialists, instructional designers, and faculty, as well as others, on resources that may include, but not be limited to: graphics, photos, animations, captured video, interactive learning objects, and HTML pages for use in instruction, and information delivery. This includes coordinating arrangements to facilitate the accessibility of all media produced.
Collaborate with instructional designers and faculty in the development of course sites in the Learning Management System, including but not limited to: importing course media and content into new shells in preparation for new semesters; applying course site templates to blank course shells and assisting with adding course media and content to fill in the template and develop the course site; creating (on behalf of faculty) assessments and assignments with or without supporting media; and facilitating the accessibility of all online content posted in courses.
Support the delivery of blended and online instruction, including media content, by troubleshooting technical failures and faculty-reported issues.
$20.43 - $23.47 per hour, commensurate with education and/or experience.

High school diploma and one year of appropriate experience.
Three years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
- Planning, creating, and publishing accessible media for a range of audiences.
- Video capture, editing, post-production and final publishing.
- Graphic design and other forms of multimedia production, editing, and publication.
- Studio-standard video and audio equipment.
- Vmix studio recording software.
- Using generative AI tools to develop video and graphics to meet educational and informational needs.
- Current WCAG accessibility guidelines and how to implement them in an educational context.
- Other current accessibility requirements in the delivery of educational materials in online environments.
- Principles and practices associated with Universal Design for Learning.
- Using the tools available within Canvas (or other Learning Management Systems) to design and develop course sites for blended and online learning environments.
- Using and troubleshooting technical issues related to web conferencing in Zoom (or other platforms) and studio equipment.
