Position: Network Architect
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Vendor Requirements: Cisco Gold Certified Partner, Juniper Partner, with proven experience supporting the State of Florida’s IT projects.
Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to provide staff augmentation services supporting the State of Florida’s IT infrastructure. The candidate will demonstrate expertise in Unified Communications, network design, implementation, and security across public-sector environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of IT experience supporting Public-sector organizations (Local, State, or Federal Government).
- Minimum 10 years working in LAN/WLAN/WAN design, implementation, and support.
Technical Expertise:
- Proven skills with Content Switches such as Kemp and F5.
- Experience in Design and Maintenance of Storage Area Networks (SANs).
- Network security proficiency including ACLs, Firewall policies, Proxy policy, and Mail Gateway management (Palo Alto NGFW, Cisco IronPorts).
- Hands-on knowledge of POTS, PRI, and SIP Trunk configurations.
- Experience with Cloud Networking and hybrid connectivity models.
Unified Communications Proficiency:
- Implementation and support of Cisco Collaboration stack (UCM, UCCX, Unity Connection).
- Designing network resiliency solutions including Disaster Recovery and High Availability.
- Familiarity with application design and scripting for automation and process improvements.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, especially under pressure.
- Effective collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to mentor junior staff, emphasizing knowledge sharing and skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level technical support and maintenance for network and UC environments.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot LAN/WLAN/WAN and SAN infrastructures.
- Develop and enforce network security policies across various platforms.
- Manage and optimize Content Switches and unified communication platforms.
- Collaborate with State of Florida IT teams to ensure compliance with standards and SLAs.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation to ensure network resiliency.
- Support hybrid cloud connectivity and networking solutions.
- Mentor and support knowledge transfer to other team members.

- Must be a Cisco Gold Certified Partner and Juniper Partner.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
Work Location: In person
