We are seeking a skilled NOC Operator to support the Navy Enterprise Voice and Video System. This role provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 operational support for a hybrid VoIP network infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted telephony and video communications. The NOC Operator is responsible for real-time monitoring, fault analysis, and incident response to maintain optimal network performance in a 24/7 operations environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor voice and video networks (AVAYA, Cisco, VoIP) in real-time using Government-provided tools.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve network incidents based on defined severity levels and response timelines.
- Troubleshoot telephony and IP network faults, conduct root cause analysis, and execute standard remediation procedures.
- Maintain accurate ticket documentation in the Telephony Management System (TMS).
- Support failover operations at the Alternate NOC (ANOC) during Continuity of Operations (COOP) events.
- Collaborate with field technicians and other IT teams to activate new services and resolve outages.
- Ensure compliance with operational SOPs and performance standards as outlined by the Government.
- Maintain physical and cybersecurity protocols in alignment with DoD policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in NOC or IT operations support, preferably in the telecommunications sector.
- Active Secret Clearance required at the time of hire.
- AVAYA VoIP certification or equivalent VoIP network management certification (or documented experience).
- Familiarity with network monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting for VoIP and IP-based systems.
- Proficiency in working with Cisco, AVAYA platforms, and telephony gateways (e.g., G450, G430).
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or federal government networks.
- Knowledge of NOC operations in classified or sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with Defense Switched Network (DSN), Session Border Controllers (SBC), and traffic management tools.
- Understanding of CWF Code 441-Network Operations Specialist (Intermediate) as outlined in DoD 8140.03.
- Ability to work in a mission-critical, fast-paced 24x7 environment with rotating shifts.
