Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and creative News Producer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of news segments, ensuring that content is engaging, accurate, and timely. As a News Producer, you will collaborate with reporters, videographers, and editors to create compelling stories that resonate with our audience. Responsibilities
- Develop and produce news segments from conception to completion, including scripting and storyboarding.
- Collaborate with reporters and videographers to gather information and create engaging content.
- Write clear and concise scripts while adhering to the station's style guide.
- Edit video footage to produce polished news segments that meet broadcast standards.
- Conduct thorough fact-checking to ensure accuracy in all news stories.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate production schedules and deadlines.
- Oversee the copy editing process for all written materials, ensuring clarity and coherence.
- Proofread scripts and other documents for grammatical accuracy and adherence to style.
- Stay updated on current events and trends to identify potential story ideas.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in videography and video production is highly desirable.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives for broadcast.
- Proficient in copywriting, copy editing, and proofreading techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with news production software and editing tools is a plus.
