Overview
We are looking to fill two positions:
First position we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mobile Phlebotomist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing STAT blood sampling and specimen collection at various locations between the hours of 4 PM and 11 PM providing exceptional patient service while ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism. After Stat lab is collected you would drop it off at Chesapeake Memorial Hospital.
The second position that we are looking for is for a mobile phlebotomist for early morning runs on Saturday mornings to skilled nursing facilities for morning run blood collection. Our morning runs start at 2 AM in the morning usually finishing being between the hours of 630 and 830.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of phlebotomy along with a commitment to delivering quality care.
Duties
- Perform blood sampling and specimen collection from patients in skilled nursing facilities.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure the safety and integrity of specimens collected.
- Process specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Provide excellent patient service by ensuring comfort and addressing any concerns during the phlebotomy process.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens.
- Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for specimen collection, ensuring all tools are sterile and properly handled.
- Stay updated on best practices in phlebotomy and laboratory techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in specimen collection processing, preferably in a mobile or clinical setting.
- Proficiency in phlebotomizing techniques with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and blood sampling protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively across multiple locations.
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
