SUMMARY: The Nightshift Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the second shift warehouse operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. This role includes managing staff, maintaining workflow, coordinating training efforts, and promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by strictly adhering to safety procedures and leading by example.
- Supervise, schedule, and evaluate the performance of PM shift employees, ensuring adequate staffing to meet operational demands.
- Oversee the order selection process and general workflow to meet productivity goals and shipping deadlines.
- Facilitate onboarding and training for new hires as well as ongoing refresher training for existing team members.
- Lead pre-shift meetings with clear agendas to communicate priorities, goals, and safety updates.
- Manage truck mapping through Warehouse Management System (WMS) software and coordinate the physical loading of trucks using pallet jacks and manual stacking.
- Assist with order selection and oversee forklift replenishment as needed to support team workflow.
- Collaborate with employees and management to resolve work-related issues and improve shift performance. .
- Analyze operational processes and common practices; recommend, implement, and train staff on approved improvements in coordination with the Warehouse Manager.
- Foster positive working relationships within the team, across departments, and with external stakeholders; maintain professional competence and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Ensure all duties are performed without posing a direct threat to the safety of oneself, others, or company property.
- Maintain regular attendance during scheduled hours (Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 PM to completion), with flexibility to work holidays and extra shifts when necessary.
- Occasionally, when the team completes work ahead of schedule, the supervisor may leave early along with the crew.
Complete additional assignments as directed by management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- AA Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, or similar preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience with a proven ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and effectively recognize and address employee performance issues.
Skills
- Leadership & Supervision: Ability to lead and motivate teams, conduct conflict resolution and employee coaching.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Effectively communicate with others through spoken and written English language. Apply customer service mindset (internal and external) while staying adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Certification, Licenses, Registrations
- Must be able to obtain Forklift Certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a warehouse setting, with proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems, data entry and reporting, order fulfillment and accuracy.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION & WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Warehouse environment with racking, forklifts, concrete floors, coolers & freezers. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Sitting at workstation 5% to 15% of work time. Standing/walking bending, and reaching, and lifting 85% to 95% of work time. The employee frequently lifts cases averaging 30# but occasionally up to 80#.
