We are seeking a certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in neurology to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with neurologists and multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional care to patients with neurological conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations to diagnose and treat neurological disorders.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests (MRI, CT scans, EEG, EMG, etc.) and laboratory results.
- Prescribe medications and develop therapeutic plans, including managing both acute and chronic pain.
- Collaborate with neurologists and other healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Provide patient education and counseling on neurological conditions, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle changes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care teams, coordinating with specialists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Document patient interactions and care plans accurately and in a timely manner using electronic medical records (EMR).
- Stay current with the latest research, clinical guidelines, and best practices in neurology.
Qualifications:
- Certification as an NP or PA.
- Valid licensure as an NP or PA in the state of Virginia.
- Master’s degree in nursing or physician assistant studies.
- Clinical experience in neurology is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong foundation in neurology, including anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and healthcare technologies.
- Experience in neurology, sleep disorders, or autonomic disorders is a plus but not required.
