Position Overview:
Ready to lead at the next level? We are seeking a motivated Nurse Manager of Critical Care (Medical ICU) to oversee a 16-bed adult medical ICU. You’ll guide a team of ~45 FTEs, reporting directly to the Director of Critical Care, and drive excellence in patient outcomes, staff engagement, and operational performance.
This role is ideal for a collaborative, forward-thinking ICU leader who thrives in high-acuity settings and is passionate about patient-centered care, team development, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct daily operations of the Medical ICU, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care
Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to advance quality outcomes and compliance
Develop and implement policies that improve patient safety, throughput, and overall experience
Lead, mentor, and engage staff while managing labor resources and scheduling effectively
Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and departmental performance metrics
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; advanced degree preferredMinimum 2 years of recent (within the last year) leadership experience in ICU/Critical Care
Current RN license in Texas or Compact state license
BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
CCRN and/or CNRN preferred
Strong understanding of patient experience, quality measures, and regulatory standards
