**Job-Specific Position Duties:**
The responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Deliver a comprehensive range of outcome-based Physician Extender services as permitted by the privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF). This includes supervising and providing general screening, medical care, and examinations for patients presenting with routine, acute, and chronic conditions affecting any and all organ systems; administering immunizations; and diagnosing, treating, and counseling patients as necessary.
- Provide technical direction and instruction to other staff members, conduct evidence-based educational lectures, and engage in in-service training for the benefit of staff.
- Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma in accordance with established protocols and clinical practice guidelines, as well as under the consultation of a physician when required.
- Advocate for preventive care and health maintenance by promoting annual physical examinations, encouraging positive health behaviors, and facilitating self-care through formalized and individualized education and counseling.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of individuals to inform the healthcare team regarding actions and plans, as well as to educate and benefit the patient, their families, and the organization.
- Identify conditions necessitating isolation and ensure the implementation of universal precautions during all patient interactions.
- Attend staff meetings to engage in case discussions, participate in continuing education, and contribute to efforts focused on continuous quality improvement and safety.
**Work Schedule:**
Full-time employment consists of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a total of 9 hours of work between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM, inclusive of a one-hour lunch break. There are no on-call requirements, weekend duties, or holiday obligations.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- **Education:** Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree
- **Experience:** A minimum of two years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) within the past three years
- **Licensure:** A current, full, active, and unrestricted NP license from any state
- **Clinical Certification:** Possession of ANCC or AANP certification, as applicable
- **Life Support Certification:** Maintenance of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- **Security Clearance:** Candidates must be capable of passing a government background check and obtaining security clearance.
