The Hennepin County Public Health Clinic is looking to hire a Nurse Practitioner. This position within the Red Door Clinic will provide sexual health care services including comprehensive HIV/sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment services, family planning, and HIV prevention services within a multidisciplinary team of medical providers. Our team consists of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistants, and community health specialists. The Public Health Clinic works to prevent and treat infectious diseases and is a respected leader in providing sexual health services, comprehensive testing and treatment for tuberculosis, and refugee health exams. The clinic has recently started to provide care for individuals with opioid use disorder as well. We are home to the Red Door Clinic, Minnesota’s largest HIV and sexually transmitted infection clinic. Location and hours:
This position is located at the Public Health Clinic at 525 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55415. This is a part-time position. Work hours will typically be 4 to 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and once the clinic resumes evening hours, one evening shift a week from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. will be required. No weekend, overnight, or holiday shifts are required. New employee orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

This is a part-time, benefit earning position working 72 hours per two-week pay period.

In this position you will:
- Provide HIV prevention and sexual health care services including HIV/STI testing and treatment, family planning, and non-occupational post exposure prophylaxis (nPEP) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
- Perform lab work including gram stains, wet preps, blood draws, and other labs in CLIA certified on-site lab under direction of lab technician specialist.
- Provide sexual health education, risk reduction counseling, consultation, and advocacy based on patient needs.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, relevant care plan, referral, and follow up, using Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Work with a diverse, interdisciplinary team to deliver sexual health services, develop team goals, performance outcomes, and effective referral coordination.
- Provide supervision and/or lead work direction to professional and/or support staff, including other nurse practitioners.
Need to have:

One of the following:
- Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the State of Minnesota and National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (CNP).
- Possession of a valid license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) issued by the State of Minnesota.
Nice to have:
- Possession of a valid license as a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHCNP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), and/or Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP).
- Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration to prescribe controlled substances.

Experience:
- Providing sexual health care services including family planning services and sexually transmitted infection testing, treatment, and prevention.
- Working with diverse populations from communities experiencing health disparities who present with social vulnerabilities and have a history of experiencing barriers to healthcare.
- With phlebotomy.
- Working with Epic or another Electronic Health Record (EHR).
