Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse (RN or LVN) to oversee resident care, staff training, and medication administration. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise and a nurturing approach to ensure our residents feel safe, valued, and well cared for. This role offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a smaller, more intimate care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Care & Assessments
- Conduct initial assessments for new residents within 14 days of admission
- Develop, update, and maintain individualized care plans (annually and as needed)
- Monitor residents’ health and oversee medication-related documentation (MAR)
Medication Management
- Manage and audit all medications entering the home
- Oversee weekly medication preparation or setup (pill packs or trays)
- Ensure compliance with physician orders and pharmacy communication
Training & Delegation
- Train all caregivers on medication administration and maintain weekly refresher sessions
- Delegate and supervise medication-related tasks to qualified staff in accordance with HomeSteady’s Nurse Delegation Policy
Leadership & Communication
- Foster a compassionate and respectful culture among staff and residents
- Communicate professionally with families and visiting professionals
- Represent HomeSteady in public interactions, including tours and community inquiries
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain timely and HIPAA-compliant documentation
- Ensure alignment with Texas DADS and Type B Assisted Living regulations
- Participate in periodic audits, safety protocols, and fall prevention initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of Texas
- 5+ years experience (preferred in senior care, home health, or assisted living)
- Valid CPR and BLS certifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a pet-friendly, farm-like environment
- Ability to lift or assist residents as needed
Compensation
- Pay Range:
- LVN: $1,500 - $2,500
- RN: $2,500 - $3,500
- Pay is invoiced on a biweekly or monthly basis as an independent contractor
- Bonus potential for emergency call response or shift flexibility
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $2,500.00 - $3,500.00 per month
