Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Specialist to join our team. This role involves working in various outdoor environments, including landscapes and greenhouses, where you will utilize your skills in plant identification, and mechanical knowledge. Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently for various Nursery tasks.
- Perform nursery care duties including mowing, trimming, and fertilizing to maintain healthy plant material.
- Assist in greenhouse/nursery operations, including planting, watering, and caring for plants to ensure optimal growth.
- Identify different plant species and assess their health to provide appropriate care.
- Engage in outdoor work that may include planting, weeding, and harvesting crops as needed.
- Utilize basic math skills for measuring areas, calculating material needs, and maintaining accurate records of work performed.
- Collaborate with team members to develop effective strategies for Nursery maintenance and farm management.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine checks and basic mechanical repairs when necessary.
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools commonly used in landscaping and gardening.
- Experience or knowledge in shade tree nursery maintenance practices and greenhouse operations.
- Strong understanding of nursery care techniques and plant growth requirements.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Basic math skills for practical applications in measuring and calculating materials.
- Ability to identify various plant species accurately.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
