The OB Clinic Manager holds primary responsibility for the daily operations of clinical and administrative support services within the OB Clinic. The position manages and provides oversight of the work of OB/2nd floor clinical support staff (MA's) and OB Patient Coordinators (OBPC) and OB/2nd floor reception operations. This role is key in facilitating coordination and communication between Clinical Support Staff (CSS) and OBPC staff and OB medical and social service providers within the OB clinic, ensuring that the OB patients have a seamless and supportive experience of care that supports a healthy pregnancy.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management and oversight of daily operations of the OB/2nd Floor Welcome Center and reception services.
- Supervises the administrative component of the OB program and OB CHW in Quincy.
- Responsible for planning and managing day-to-day operations and workflow for OB/2nd floor clinical support staff in the delivery of cost-effective, clinically competent, reliable healthcare in a safe, respectful manner that ensures patient respect and dignity.
- Ensures the highest standard of care is provided by the Medical Assistants team.
- Oversees quality control checks, infection control, and safety practices of the assigned team.
- Identifies and plans for opportunities to redesign operational systems to promote staff and operational efficiency and quality care.
- Proactively provides leadership to staff to promote respectful, safe and positive work environment.
- Actively contributes to the leadership forum to promote exchange of information amongst leaders and departments.
- Ensures that current policies and procedures are updated for accuracy and relevance.
- Manages department human resources functions.
- Efficiently manages expenses of the department adhering to Finance guidelines.
- Possesses advanced level general skills, including written and verbal communication skills, computational and computer skills and mathematical knowledge frequently acquired through completion of a high school program.
- Job duties require specific knowledge and training in clinical support services, typically acquired during completion of a certificate or license program in medical assisting or associate or trade school Nursing program.
- Two years of Medical Assistant Certified or clinical nursing experience required.
- Requires minimum two years of experience supervising clinical support staff, either in a medical assistant supervision or nurse supervision role.
- Must possess a current Medical Assistant Certification with the State of Washington or a Registered Nursing license.
- Ability to read and speak Spanish and/or Russian preferred but not required.
- Travel between work sites required. Must have reliable transportation and provide documentation of auto insurance and valid driver's license as required.
