GSS Lake Forest Home Care is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Office or Virtual Health Information Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of all health records for our patients to maintain the highest quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and organize patient medical records, including maintaining electronic health records (EHR)
- Monitor and maintain patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Record and track any release of information requests from healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other sources
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence related to patient records and maintain a professional and organized filing system
- Work closely with healthcare professionals to obtain and update patient medical information
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Office and EHR software
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
