Description
Summary: Provides direct patient care as instructed by the Oncology RN. Supports the Oncology service by assisting with patient registration, scheduling patients for treatments, communicating with providers, ordering supplies, collecting and labeling of lab specimens, scanning documents to the medical record, and other duties as assigned. May be required to adjust work schedule to accommodate the patient needs and workload. This is a part-time role, scheduled for 24 hours per week.

Requirements
Education, Training or Certifications Required:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS Provider Status
- Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing
Experience Required:
- Recent training/experience in medical terminology and training/expertise with delivering patient care.
- Experience working in an OP infusion center or service or an Oncology office is highly desirable.
Special Requirements:
Basic computer skills required. Knowledge of working within an electronic health record desired.
Cognitive Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writing. Additional languages are preferred.
- Ability for high performance under stressful situations.
- Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and follow through.
Physical Demands:
- Able to stand/work for most of an 8-hr. shift.
- Must be able to bend/lift 25-50 lbs. (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.)
Environment:
- Potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Potential for exposure to contagious diseases.
- Potential for periods of high stress.
