Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operating Room Circulating Nurse (OR RN – Circulator) to join our surgical services team. This role is ideal for an RN with strong clinical experience, leadership ability, and a passion for delivering safe, precise, and patient-focused perioperative care. You’ll support our surgical teams by preparing the operating room, coordinating care throughout procedures, and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Function as the Circulating Nurse for surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile, safe, and supportive operating environment
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients across all ages
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and other hospital units before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor compliance with hospital and regulatory policies related to OR procedures and patient safety
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub nurses, and support staff for optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrate effective communication, leadership, and teamwork during intraoperative care
- Maintain awareness of OR inventory, equipment, and sterile techniques
- Support quality improvement and continuing education initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active RN License in the State of Illinois
- BLS and ACLS Certification (Required)
- PALS Certification (Preferred)
- 4–5 years of operating room experience (Required)
- Previous circulating and/or scrub experience
- Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities
- Experience with spine, orthopedic, and robotic surgeries (Preferred)
- Knowledge of OR inventory and surgical instruments
Shift & Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Shift Start: 6:30 AM or 7:00 AM
- Full-time role with consistent hours and rotating responsibilities
